Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to information we collect when you visit our website, contact us, apply to become a partner or Foundation beneficiary, attend or express interest in an Astra Moment, or otherwise engage with us.

It does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the site, and information we receive from third parties.

Information you provide directly includes:

• Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, organization, job title and phone number.
• Application and inquiry details, the information you submit when you apply to become a partner or Foundation beneficiary, request to host or sponsor a Moment, or send us a message, including the content of that message.
• Event participation information, details relevant to your attendance at or interest in an Astra Moment.

Information collected automatically

When you use our site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information:

• Device and log data, such as IP address, browser type, operating system and referring pages.
• Usage data, pages viewed, links clicked and time spent, collected to understand and improve the site.
• Cookies and similar technologies, used to operate the site, remember preferences and measure aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from partners, event hosts, referrals, and publicly available professional sources (for example, a professional networking profile) to help us evaluate participation or partnership and keep our records accurate.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal information on one or more of the following bases: your consent; the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request; our legitimate interests in operating and promoting Astra in a way that does not override your rights; and compliance with a legal obligation.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers, vendors who host our site, manage communications, or provide analytics on our behalf, under obligations of confidentiality.
• Partners and event hosts, where it is necessary to arrange or run a Moment in which you are participating.
• The Astra Foundation and nonprofit partners, in connection with the Foundation's charitable activities where relevant.
• Legal and safety, when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, property and safety of Astra, our users and others.
• Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to maintain our records, and to comply with legal, accounting or reporting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Astra is operated from the United States, and information we collect may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
